What we were working with
A San Clemente lot where the new unit went on top of the existing garage: 700 sq ft, two bedrooms and one bath.
How we handled it
We broke ground in July 2025. By late September the unit was framed and sheathed with the windows set, ready for waterproofing and insulation. Smooth stucco and a new garage door below finished it, and the completed photos went up in January 2026, about six months after ground breaking.
