What we were working with
A Riverside backyard with room for a separate unit, and interior designer 8a Interiors on the job from ground breaking. The plan: 800 sq ft with a full kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, and a bathroom with a corner glass shower.
How we handled it
We broke ground in late October 2024 and poured the slab in November. Framing was nearly done two weeks later, then the underground utilities and the rough HVAC, electrical and plumbing in December. Finishes started in January: white oak cabinets with quartz counters, a linear electric fireplace under a wood mantel, black shower fixtures. The recap went up in February 2025.
The month each stage went up on our Instagram while the job was running. No price is shown because we only publish prices the owner has agreed to share.
